Case Studies

Please see below case studies on products on services provided by Darcy Spillcare Manufacture to companies to assist with their environmental compliance.
Fuel distribution company meets legislation and reduce waste management costs
Darcy solves the problem faced by a multi-sited fuel distribution in the removal of rainwater from the bund areas surrounding tank farms with the introduction of its Atex Approved Bund Water Control Unit. Our bund water control unit maintains 110% of the tanks capacity preventing the risk of a spill spread, reduced waste management costs and provided the company with peace of mind that its remote depots are even safer and meet environmental regulations.
Generator supplier needs provision for protecting drainage systems
A large supplier of generators and services had a spill on one of their customers sites as a result of a generator failure. Darcy identified the requirement for the supply of two solar powered envirovalves to prevent future spills and firewater frun off from the site.
Free site survey and correct location of spill kits prevent diesel flowing into a storm drain
A gas powered power station realises the benefit of a free site survey undertaken by Darcy to identify areas at risk. A subsequent spill incident was swiftly handled utilising the spill kits sited in the areas identified to be at most risk preventing pollutants entering the storm drain thus reducing clean up and waste management costs.
Aviation fuel supplier requires 24 hour security drainage containment system
An aviation company required a 24 hour security system for drains at the airport for the prevention and containment of pollutants and fire water runoff entering the surround ground water. The envirovalve from Darcy fits the bill providing the necessary site security systems to contain any liquid run off from the runways and other key areas.
Need for a streamlined and cost effective ordering method for regular absorbent orders
Our customer required a flexible approach to ordering. Limited by space they found they were having to place regular orders to maintain stock of absorbents to tackle oil spills. We introduced them to "call off ordering" giving them a committed price for a longer period of time and a quicker and more efficient ordering system.
Distributor requires lining of an indoor storage area to prevent oil leaking through concrete
Our client has an internal storage area for storing oils and other contaminants. Upon inspection it was identified that oil was leaking through the concrete. To meet storage requirements, lining was applied to a certain height to the wall of the storage area.
Aviation company requires bulk fuel bunded storage area
A leading UK airport needed to ensure bulk fuel storage bunded area was suitable to the capacity of tanks and could be installated with minimal disruption to the client and their operations. Darcy solved this with their envirobund system.
Food manufacturer needs bund relined to stop oil leaking through concrete bund wall
Leading manufacturer of food in the UK required investigation into their production area bunding as oil was leaking through the concrete. Upon investigation only the main walls required relining.
Oil distribution company needs to protect watercourse from oil spills
The oil distributor delivered by means of a canal barge system and needed a way of protecting the watercourse when filling/delivering. The installation of a boom system would capture any oil that escapes.
Installation of debris booms prevents Xenospheres getting into local rivers
A power station required a debris boom to be installed within its on-site lagoon to prevent Xenospheres on the surface getting off the lagoon and into the local river. Darcy installed a debris and containment boom to meet the clients requirements
Boom installation at power station captures debris entering water intakes
Darcy were commissioned to supply and install a debris boom on the Calder navigation river to prevent debris getting into the water intakes.
Remediaton of clients premises to remove fuel spill stains
Darcy were requested to attend site after a small fuel spill caused staining on the ground area on-site to remediate and clean the contaminated area.
